2.    The Green Cross International Organisation.

3.    From the 3rd of June to 14th of June 1992.

4.    The first Earth Summit was in Rio de Janeiro.

5.    In 2012, the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development will also take place in Rio.

6.    The purpose of Earth Summit is to change the way we look at environment.

7.    The most important decisions that they made was the Framework Convention on Climate Change, Forest Management, Agenda 21 and The Convention on Biological Diversity.

8.    I think it is necessary because we need to take care of our environment and preserve our resources before it is to late.

9.    Since the Earth Summit, people have tried to help our environment and try keep to save our resources, but from what I see around me, I do not think it has been very successful yet.

10.   Sustainable development is linked with Earth Summit because we really need to keep resources without wasting them. We need to use them in a way that we can still have them on earth.

African Nationalism and Pan-Africanism

Activity 8

1.       African nationalism was a movement across Africa to fight colonialism and demand independence.

2.       Organization of African Unity (OAU) established May 25 1963, Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) established on6 April 1959, Aborigines’ Rights Protection Society (ARPS), established in 1897.

3.       Pan-African is a movement for bigger co-operation among Africans.

4.       These two differ because Pan-Africanism is for co-operation between Africans and African nationalism was the demand for independence.

5.       Kwame Nkrumah led the Gold Coast’s anti-colonial struggle for independence from the British. Robert Sobukwe established the Pan Africanist Congress to fight the apartheid.

6.       The song lyrics relate to Pan-Africanism and African Nationalism because the African man was taken into America (stolen) and he had no say, but in the song its says he fought on arrival and for survival just like the Africans fought for their independence  and co-operation between Africans.
